The Formfit® Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow Support is designed to manage tennis and golfer’s elbow or similar conditions.
Tennis elbow is characterised by pain centred on the outside of the elbow joint and Golfer’s elbow on the inside. Despite the names, the conditions are not just limited to tennis and golf, but any repetitive task.
Sufferers will normally experience pain around the bony point of the inside or outside of the elbow. The pain can travel further down the arm with inflammation of the tendons resulting in the range of motion being compromised.
The conditions themselves are largely self-limiting. In extreme cases surgery may be required to repair the tendons. Timescales for a full recovery can be up to 2 years, which can impact on your activity. That is why many of those diagnosed opt to wear a brace.
Elbow supports such as the Formfit® work by applying compression to the affected area. Compression can be adjusted accordingly depending on the level of pressure required. This compression works to manage inflammation and offers a degree of pain relief, allowing you to remain active for longer.
By managing an injury using a brace you are also minimising the risk of causing further damage. Obviously it is important to know your limits when playing with an injury as the last thing you want is to make things worse.
The slim line nature of the brace also means it can be concealed easily and comfortably under clothing.
This style of elbow brace can manage Tennis and Golfer’s elbow. Simply rotate the brace round so that the application of compression is focussed on the affected side of the joint.
